Paper May 1, 2005

Posted by admin in : Irrelevant , trackback

I have this backlog of notepads — a bunch of the Mead student notebooks and other interesting journal dealies. I have a bunch of cool pens. I love cruising the paper and pen sections of the office supply stores. But the truth is I so rarely write anything down. I jot things down like phone numbers and passwords, but my days of sitting in a cafe and writing long clever essays in longhand are over. Its not a resolution — it’s a sad realization. I write terrific emails — work emails, project documentation, these dreadful blogs. I type, poorly, three fingered. But I guess the days of longhand writing are behind me. It feels weird, frankly, to hold a pen. Sort of strains the hand muscles. My handwriting was always messy; now it’s unreadable.

So I didn’t see *that* coming.

Check back in ten years and I’ll have a blog entry about how I never get out of bed any more.
