War On Saturday December 11, 2006
Posted by Phineas in : Irrelevant, Political/Editorial , trackbackWhat’s the deal with people saying “Have a good weekend”? Why can’t they come right out and say “Have a good Saturday”? After all, the true meaning of the weekend is Saturday — everyone knows that. What’s with all this political correctness? The liberal war on Saturday has got to stop. America was founded by people who took Saturday off. It’s a Saturday nation. Saying “Have a good weekend” is un-American. The next time an employee at a business tells you “Have a good weekend”, be sure to boycott that business! Don’t just smile and say “You too.” That would be P.C. Be sure to display your hostility and outrage at anyone wishing you a “good weekend.” Because it’s a War on Saturday, and you’re in the trenches.

I’ve had it with the way you conservatives take valid contributions to the civilizing of discourse and twist them into some kind of sick battlefield metaphor. PC? Is it PC to avoid using the term “Saturday” when many of your fellow citizens consider it, if not insulting, then vaguely non-inclusive? Is it PC to want to avoid hurting another’s feelings? To use synonyms to disguise what is really being talked about? Certainly not! So you can take your “Saturdays” and your “police actions” and your “Christmas menoras” and put them where the sun doesn’t shine! Thank you.
